It will also enable new more elegant and futuristic look and design of the devices. Most probably it will find application in devices at the beginning of 2014. Samsung, Apple, LG and many other giant companies have already tested the functionality of flexible glass on prototypes and plan to find its application as soon as possible. This November, LG G Flex in Korea hit the market the with brilliant, a quad-core Smartphone with touch screen, rear control buttons and curved batteries. This Smartphone should be available in the USA at the beginning of 2014.

Initially, the consumers thought that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be the first device with bendable display. It didn’t happen that way. There are already some TVs on the market with similar technology of – bendable flexible glass. According to the LG Chief Technology Officer Dr. Sang Deog Yeo, we are on the threshold of a new era in the technology: “LG Display is launching a new era of flexible displays for Smartphones with its industry-leading technology”. A good proof about this is their highlighted device – the world’s first curved 55-inch eco-friendly OLED TV. Apple devices starting from 2014 will probably have curved glass and larger displays.

Reports on Bloomberg and The Verge argued that Apple is preparing and experimenting with iPhones with larger displays and implementation of bendable flexible glass. The devices will have 4.7” and 5.5‘’ display. The source also announced that the company is concentrating on experimenting with the touch screens. They will be able to sustain high pressure, which is especially important for those who love to play games on their Smartphone. According to the rumors, Apple knows the advantages of the bendable technology, also plans to implement it in the rumored iWatch. Despite the great features like communication and connection via smartphone, receiving instant messages and NFC on your watch,will definitely be a big plus for this apple device compared to its rival Samsung Galaxy Gear.
It is not surprising that that a team of more than 100 people already working on it at Apple. Apple normally doesn’t speaks a lot before they aren’t officially sure that the device is ready to hit the market and impress the costumers.
